‘I make it clear I’m not going to sleep with them’
IT sounds she is living the dream — Alyssa Ramos travels the world for free.
There is just one catch: she has to spend her time with older men who pay for her luxurious holidays.
Instead of going for a drink on a first date, 20-year-old Alyssa goes on holiday instead.
She goes away almost every weekend since signing up to a Tinder-style website five months ago.
The model from Madison, Wisconsin, has travelled to Ibiza, London, Cancun, New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Dubai and Florida — all thanks to her travel dates.
Since signing up to Tinder-for-travel website MissTravel.com, Alyssa has gone on over five luxurious holidays — and has already planned future trips to the Bahamas and Greece.
Alyssa said: “It makes me feel a princess. It’s awesome. It’s really fun. It’s nice because I’m getting to experience the world so young.
“I know people in their 30s who haven’t even gotten their state.”
As well as getting her flights and accommodation paid for, Alyssa hasn’t had to put her hand in her own pocket on any of the dates.
She added: “I have never spent a dime on Miss Travel. Getting everything paid for feels pretty good. I think a lot of girls can take it too far — I’m the kind of person who is thankful for what they get no matter what.
IT DOESN’T ALWAYS WORK OUT: ‘My international blind date was hell’
“Every guy I have seen has paid for everything. I mean, if I were to offer they’re always ‘no, no, no. Let me pay.’ They are gentlemen about it.”
The lingerie and bikini model admits she uses the site primarily to travel for free rather than to find romance.
Alyssa said: “You can definitely meet someone in a romantic way. You can fall in love with someone very easily.
“I know I could easily have a relationship but I’m personally not looking for a relationship right now.”
Living in Madison — a town of just 250,000 residents — prior to signing up with the website, Alyssa hadn’t even travelled outside of the US.
The highlight of her summer vacations were her family’s annual camping trip.
She recalled: “The vacations I had were road trips northwest with my family, hiking in Montana.
“I’m really big into hiking and stuff that, it’s really cool, it’s really fun but that was basically it.
“I’d never been anywhere tropical.”
On her all-expenses paid vacations Alyssa has shared rooms with her dates — but in separate beds and claims she doesn’t sleep with them.
She said: “I always make myself very clear even before we buy plane tickets.
“When I go to stay with a guy we either have spare rooms or separate beds. There are definitely guys on the site who have intentions to sleep with me but those are the guys I have avoided.
“I have kissed the guys and hugged them but I make it clear I’m not going to sleep with them.”
And Alyssa is very clear that what she does is not similar to prostitution.
She said: “It’s not prostitution at all. It’s completely different. You’re not sleeping with anybody. You’re going out to a dinner and having a good time.
“I’m fine with escorting. I mean I have gotten paid $1000 ($A1340) to go out on a dinner date. And that was it.
“I just had to show up for a dinner date. I have done that plenty of times. But no I’ll never go home with a guy — that’s just too much for me.”
Alyssa came across the travel dating website online, which connects ‘travel-seeking-singles’ together, and decided to sign up after her previous two-year relationship to a 48-year-old man ended.
She added: “I was always interested in older guys and I always wanted to travel too.
“So, it was a win-win.
“I honestly don’t see myself with someone of my own age. I always see myself with older guys. They’re classy. I men in a suit and you don’t see that with guys my age.
“I’d rather go out on a date with a guy who wants to take me out to dinner and is classy than a guy who wants to Netflix and chill.”
Initially, Alyssa kept her travel dating a secret from her parents but after jetting off most weekends she decided to tell them what she was doing.
She said: “I didn’t tell my family what I was doing at first because obviously they weren’t going to be happy about it.
“But they actually know now and they’re okay with it and have grown to it.”
But her parents aren’t that comfortable with what Alyssa does.
So much so that her dad gets her to take a photo of her with a date as soon as they meet and send it to him along with a full address so he can be sure she is safe.
Alyssa said: “My dad’s, , over the top. But it’s smart. There is nothing wrong with that.”
In the five months Alyssa has travel dated, she has only gone out with five different men, going on holiday with them multiple times.
Her latest date is Oliver Wright, a 36-year old lawyer from LA who she met up with for the first time in New York.
Alyssa added: “I had a great time with Oliver. I definitely want to travel with him again.
“The best travel date I have been to was probably in LA. It was my first time in California and my date was awesome.
“He was super funny, I felt I’d known him forever. He was one of those personalities where you click instantly and I thought it was awesome so, that made the trip really.
“There have been people I haven’t clicked with all that great but I still have fun — I got to go to Disney World and Disney Land and Universal Studio, for the first time ever.
“Everybody always did that as a kid and that’s something I never got to do.
“I do eventually want to settle down just not right now.
“I’d rather be travelling right now just living life. I don’t want someone holding me down.”
And Oliver also agrees that the travel site is different from prostitution.
While he happily admits there is nothing he can get on the site that he can’t get for free himself, but it is the convenience he pays for.
He said: “Of course I am hoping for some romance, who isn’t looking for romance?
“I do this primarily, I would say, because of convenience — you can filter out the riff raff.
“As far as paying for the other person goes I have no problem with it at all, in fact I insist it is that way.
“To me that is just how dating is.”
And it seems the young age of the women on Miss Travel does not bother Oliver.
“I would say the younger the better, as long as they are legal,” he said.

MissTravel: the dating site where rich men pay for us to travel the world

Natalie Wood has been living the high life after being whisked away by rich suitors
She has sipped cocktails in the Maldives, jet-skied in Kuwait and seen Australia from the cockpit of a private aircraft. Yet the 30-year-old beautician has barely had to part with a penny.
Natalie signed up to a dating agency with a difference. Called MissTravel, it promises to match attractive women with wealthy but lonely men who are willing to fund their dates in exotic places. The online matchmaking service has the slogan: “Who Needs Money? Beautiful People Travel the World for Free.”
It’s aimed unashamedly at young women who are blessed with good looks, with the inference that the plain need not apply. Natalie, from Canterbury in Kent, estimates that her jet-setting over the past two years would have cost £60,000.
“People call me a gold-digger,” she admits. “But I prefer to be called a luxury traveller. I love to tick off different countries. I’m single and I being spoiled.” As well as paying for flights and five-star hotels in a bid to impress Natalie, suitors have showered her with designer clothes, swept her off her feet in their sports cars and welcomed her aboard their yachts.

Most of her dates have been wealthy older businessmen who are too busy to find love. Natalie says they have all been “perfect gentlemen” and while she doesn’t feel under pressure to sleep with them she “doesn’t rule it out”.
Other countries Natalie has visited include Turkey, Dubai and the US. But while she’s happy to see the world at someone else’s expense Natalie is adamant that it’s also about meeting a potential new partner and she has arranged to meet one of her dates again.
In the meantime Natalie is in Miami, where earlier this week she met up with a surgeon who took her for a spin in his Mustang sports car. Before flying home she’s lining up a side-trip to the Bahamas for yet another tryst.

Because of Natalie's good looks she has been able to travel all around the world
“I would love to meet and marry an international businessman,” she says, but she is careful to check out her dates’ backgrounds before packing her bags and passport.
Questions have been raised about the safety and morality of MissTravel, which is promoted by a photo of a leggy brunette sitting on a suitcase, but its American owner denies there’s anything seedy.

It’s a whole lot easier for people to fall in love or be romantic on a trip, usually in an exotic place
“We’re just a dating site,” insists Brandon Wade. “We match people then they’re off on their own.
“Most dating websites have been focused on people dating locally but one of the things we noticed, especially catering to the successful and wealthy category, is that people are willing to fly and travel to meet each other.

MissTravel is definitely not Pretty Woman with added air miles and women are advised to make it clear what costs are being met, or shared, and request separate rooms – at least to begin with.
It’s claimed that the agency, which launched four years ago, boasts more than 600,000 members worldwide who have gone on upwards of 300,000 trips.
Young women who have signed up report being inundated with offers of all-expenses paid jaunts to places such as Hawaii, St Kitts and Hong Kong – all supposedly with no strings attached.
Both men and women can publish their details on the site, with an all-important accompanying photograph, but the understanding is that it’s the men who pick up the tab in return for companionship and who knows what else?
Current top destinations include Bali, Paris and Cancun, Mexico. However, an attractive young woman can post details of her dream trip anywhere in the world, then simply sit back and wait.
Last year Monica Lynn, 25, from Alabama, told how she travelled to nine different countries including Italy, Barbados, Mexico and China, without spending a dime. The former financial adviser was bombarded with invitations from rich suitors. She reckons it would have taken a decade to save for her trips if she’d paid her own way.
“When I first came across the site I thought it was weird but kind of cool,” says Monica, who also insists she felt no pressure to have sex.
Monica, pictured, says MissTravel is just any other dating site – but with added perks
“It’s just any other dating website but with the bonus of travel.”
any date there’s always the chance that it turns out to be an excruciating disaster. That’s bad enough if you are only a taxi ride from home but making your excuses while on the other side of the world is an entirely different ball game.
Monica’s first date, who whisked her off to Barbados for a week of pampering, paid for the entire trip and lavished gifts on her. However, there was no romance.
“We had fun but there was no connection,” she adds. She had better luck on her third date, in Milan, where she fell for a wealthy 28-year-old businessman. Despite the distance between them they became an item.
“It has been a life changing experience,” says Monica. “It’s more romantic than anything a guy back home could do for you. Traditional dates would be too boring now.”
It seems that when the world is your oyster a meal for two at the local pizza joint or a rom-com at the flicks just won’t do. And with so many men willing to foot the bill for their jet-setting why should the s of Natalie and Monica be in any hurry to settle down?
Woman gets dates to fund her round-the-world travels
Published: 12:17 GMT, 31 December 2015 | Updated: 09:59 GMT, 1 January 2016
A 25-year-old woman has revealed that she travels the world for free by getting men she meets online to fund her trip.
Monica Lynn, from Alabama, has travelled to Italy, Barbados and the Phillipines – and calls the experience 'dating on steroids'.
Before January 2015, Monica Lynn had never even left the US but a year on, she has seen nine different countries and done everything from camel trekking in Dubai to shopping sprees in Hong Kong – all apparently paid for by dates she met on the internet.

The former financial advisor, who ditched the nine-to-five grind to see the world, estimates her lavish trip would have taken a decade of saving if she'd funded it herself.
Her adventure began in January, when she came across an article about dating site MissTravel, where singles can pay to bring prospective partners on holiday with them.
Miss Lynn explained: ‘I came across Miss Travel in an article about weird websites. I thought, 'Yes, that sounds weird – but also kind of cool.'
‘This website attracts very successful men who don't have time to date in the normal way, so this allows them to accelerate the whole thing.
‘They're going on trips anyway, and they can afford to search through profiles and afford to bring one they with them.'
She admitted she had her doubts about the site at first, saying: ‘Initially I thought, 'Is this legitimate? Is this a thing?' But I signed up anyway, started chatting to a few guys, and really got into the idea.'
Kayaking in Mexico in April 2015. Monica has visited nine different countries in 2015 alone, and done everything from camel trekking in Dubai to shopping sprees in Hong Kong, all paid for by men she met on 'travel dating' website Miss Travel
Monica, a former financial advisor who had never left the US before, decided to quit her job to travel the world (left, in Barbados in February 2015 and right, flying business class on Emirates on the way home from Jakarta, Indonesia in December). She estimates that her lavish trip would have taken up to a decade of saving if she had funded it herself
And now Monica claims that it would have taken her up to a decade to save up for the trips she's experienced this year.
‘Without MissTravel, it would have taken me five to 10 years of working to do all things I've done in this year alone.
‘Before I found this site, I'd had never been outside the US and now my passport is starting to get full – it's opened up the world to me.’
After deciding her life was lacking adventure, Miss Lynn quit her high-flying job at wealth management company Merrill Lynch in December 2014.
Then, after joining Miss Travel the following month, she began chatting to a 31-year-old managing director.
Monica, posing for a photo at a nightclub in Mexico in April 2015, says her passport is now 'getting full' after all her exotic trips. A year ago she had never ventured outside of the US, but the 25-year-old now says that her dating exploits have 'opened up the world' to her
Monica has been wined and dined by three different men in countries all over the world, but it was a 28-year-old Italian businessman who eventually won her heart. She said the pair had a connection before they even met
After exchanging messages back and forth, he asked her if she'd to go on holiday with him.
She said yes and in February 2015, he whisked her off to Barbados for a week.
But that was just the first of many exotic holidays for the hometown girl-turned-world traveller.
Her date, who wishes to remain anonymous, paid for her entire holiday, including flights, a stay at a five-star resort, and even the cocktails they enjoyed on the beach.
He also bought her some gifts, including silver jewellery.
Monica, pictured during a desert safari in Dubai in August 2015, believes she would never have been able to experience all the things she has seen and done this year – including trips to the Caribbean and Indonesia – had she been forced to fund her travels herself
Monica poses for a photo at St Lawrence Gap, a nightlife area in Barbados, in February 2015. She says that despite being flown around the world by wealthy men, there is 'no expectation' of sex, insisting 'dating is dating'
However, Monica stressed that there was no expectation that the pair would sleep together.
‘That depends on the person and how you behave – it's any other dating website, it's just there's lots of travelling involved,’ she said.
‘Maybe some people will do that, we're all human – but it wasn't for me, not with that first guy.
And she insisted that, despite being flown out to the exotic location, there was no awkwardness when the date fell flat.
She said: ‘It wasn't awkward – it was just a regular date which didn't really sizzle, except you were on a Caribbean island.
Monica visited Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort & Spa in Dubai in August 2015. The former Merrill Lynch financial advisor from Alabama says she always does background checks on potential dates before meeting them, and that her mum is 'proud' of her adventures
Monica enjoys a massage on the beach in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, in April 2015, one of her many trips that was bankrolled by wealthy businessmen. She says that while she's had an amazing experience, she is not ready to leave Alabama for good just yet
A snap from Monica's trip to the Ladies' Market, Hong Kong in July 2015. She said that joining Miss Travel has been 'life-changing' as it has resulted in her holidaying in nine different countries this year alone
‘Sex was never mentioned. We had fun but there was no sexual connection. He was a friend. We're still in touch.’
Though Miss Lynn did not go on any more trips with the man she went to Barbados with, she soon met a second man who took her to San Francisco.
Once again, she enjoyed the trip, but didn't feel a spark with her companion.
Then, her luck changed after she met her third prospective partner.
They spoke via instant messaging, but the first time they saw each other in person was when she flew to Italy to meet him.
Monica claims she has always been a 'spontaneous girl' especially when it came to dating, but she now feels she has transformed from 'a small-town girl, living in Alabama for 20 years, into a woman of the world’. She took this selfie next to a bunch of roses that were sent to her room at Hotel Brunelleschi in Milan, July 2015
Monica poses for a photo on the beach in Barbados, February 2015. The 25-year-old had never ventured outside of the US before, but has now travelled all over the world for free
Monica has now met a 28-year-old Italian man through the website and the pair have decided to commit, despite living in different countries 5,000 miles apart. This photo shows a sunset in Alba, Italy in July 2015
‘He's Italian, he's 28 and really gorgeous. He runs several successful online businesses, and also works in import and export,’ she said.
‘We had a connection before we even met, and that continued.’
Since they met earlier this year, the pair have embarked on seven holidays together, including to Indonesia and the Philippines.
They're now so committed to each other that both have promised not to use the MissTravel site any more.
She has found a man she is 'really serious about' through online dating and the pair have agreed to stop using the website Miss Travel – but Monica insisted: 'If I end up single again, I won't be dating any other way'. Here, she poses for a selfie at Mandala Club in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, in April 2015
Monica took a snap of the entrance on the way to Il Boscareto Resort & Spa in Alba, Italy, in July 2015. After travelling to Europe, Asia and the Caribbean, Monica said: 'traditional dates would be too boring for me now'
Monica enjoys an ice cream on a trip to Italy where she met her current boyfriend, a 28-year-old businessman. She was visiting Frigidarium, Rome in October 2015
Miss Lynn said: ‘After about six weeks, we decided to be exclusive to each other. My lifestyle hasn't changed though. Any time he goes on a trip now he invites me.
‘The way I see it, I found a guy I'm really serious about through online dating – with a lot of travel.’
She hopes they'll be in it for the long-haul, but should the relationship not work out, Miss Lynn believes 'normal dating' has been ruined for her.
‘Dating is dating, and there's nothing wrong with a guy taking you to the cinema,’ she said.
‘But if I end up single again, I won't be dating any other way. Traditional dates would just be too boring for me now.’
Defending her unconventional dating methods, Monica said: 'What would most girls prefer? Going for dinner in their hometown, or watching the sunset on a cliff-top restaurant with a guy who wanted to fly you to the other side of the world to be with him?'
A snap from one of Monica's recent trips to The Cliff restaurant in Barbados, February 2015. She says her mother was initially worried about her travelling plans, but she was reassured after hearing that her daughter did 'online checks' on the men she holidays with
When Monica's mother Lee, 59, was first told about her daughter's plans to go on holiday with men she'd never met, she thought they were ‘completely crazy.’
But her adventurous daughter quelled her fears – reminding her she did online checks on the men she holidays with – and she's now proud her daughter is seeing places she never had the chance to growing up.
‘My dad Jeff passed away when I was 12, so mum is really protective of me,’ said Monica.
‘But now she's just really happy for me. She even makes comments about when me and 'the Italian' are going to tie the knot.’
Miss Lynn, who is working on a mobile app start-up in the time between trips, said she and her boyfriend have discussed where they might want to live in future as, currently, he is based in Italy while she is more than 5,000 miles away in Alabama.
The 25-year-old is working on a mobile start-up app in between trips, but has no plans to leave the US for good
But for now, she has no plans to move.
‘Right now, I don't want to leave my family and my dog Rex. I love them too much. We'll see what happens in future,’ she said.
‘Joining this website has been life-changing though. I've always been a spontaneous girl, especially with guys I'm dating, but the last 12 months have transformed a small-town girl, living in Alabama for 20 years, into a woman of the world.’
She went on to describe the experience of travel dating as 'dating on steroids,' saying: ‘What would most girls prefer?

'Going for dinner in their hometown, or watching the sunset on a cliff-top restaurant with a guy who wanted to fly you to the other side of the world to be with him?
‘It's exponentially more romantic than anything a guy back home could do for you.
‘Your senses are heightened. Everything is so spontaneous, it helps ignite the passion. And you're getting to know each other in these amazing, exotic locations.’
Miss Travel, which describes itself as the number one travel dating and companion site, has almost 500,000 members and claims to be responsible for 324,487 trips.

MissTravel Will Find A Sugar Daddy To, Uh, “Sponsor” Your Vacation – TechCrunch
Ever wanted to travel to an exotic island for a week but didn’t have the cash? Well, thanks to MissTravel, that’s not a problem anymore — if, and it’s a big if, you’re a young, attractive woman who’s willing to swipe right on a lonely, wealthy travel companion.
MissTravel initially launched as a dating site two and a half years ago, the first in the “travel dating space,” according to founder Brandon Wade, the relationship guru behind sugar daddy search sites SeekingArrangement.com and WhatsYourPrice.com.
“Most dating websites have been focused on people dating locally, but one of the things we noticed, especially catering to the successful and wealthy category, is that people are willing to fly and travel to meet each other,” says Wade. “It’s a whole lot easier for people to fall in love or be romantic on a trip, usually in an exotic place.”
Travel dating isn’t an entirely novel concept in the tech world. Tinder launched a “Passport” feature earlier this year to help users plan their travel hook-ups in advance. Last year, Y Combinator alum The Dating Ring crowdfunded a plan to fly New York women to San Francisco to date the city’s growing population of tech nerds.
MissTravel, which just launched its mobile app last week, is taking the concept a step further. Users can post trips to the app, and choose from three options: “I Have an Extra Ticket,” “Take Me Along,” or “I Have My Own Ticket.”
Or they can search for users instead, with the option to filter by age range, income level, height, body type, hair color, and more. “All of the profile fields are searchable,” Wade confirms.
So theoretically, if I wanted to go to Thailand for a week, I could create my dream vacation, post the details to the site with the “Take Me Along” tag, and wait for an eligible suitor to sweep me off my feet and finance the entire trip. (Let’s be real though: I’m never going to do that.)
This brings to mind quite a few problematic scenarios right off the bat. Aside from sounding a little too much tech-enabled prostitution, what if my MissTravel bachelor is not who he says he is?
One of the key issues that MissTravel will have to combat is that its concept is a highly disparate power dynamic.
If a woman is seeking a ‘sugar daddy’ (which has its own set of connotations) in her own city, she has a support network and options. In the travel scenario, this becomes more problematic. The questions are obvious.
Would I have my own room? If I was uncomfortable at any point, would I be able to go home early?
You could argue that this is true for any dating app or service. But mix sexual politics and an imbalance of (monetary, and therefore situational) power with the logistics of travel, and there is potential here for some incredibly awkward scenarios—or even sexual assault.
According to Wade, MissTravel provides an optional stamp of verification to users who choose to pay for a background check, although anyone can create a profile without it. So essentially, the app doesn’t assume any responsibility for the outcome of users’ travel dates.
“You should practice caution when you date online,” he says. “We give people advice, make sure you have a round trip ticket, make sure you have a room of your own, make sure you set expectations up front.”
Wade admits that MissTravel dates have resulted in a few “situations where members have been stranded because of certain circumstances,” but he assures that the company did everything it could to help those unfortunate women get tickets home.
With more than 615,000 members worldwide, and over half a million trips booked with MissTravel, the company is profitable, Wade reports.
To be clear, the pairings don’t have to be rich men and younger women. Men, who make up 30 percent of MissTravel users, pay a $40 monthly fee to use the site, and women can register for free. The company declined to disclose what percentage of users offering paid trips are men, or the percentage of first-date trips that result in second dates or relationships.
I asked Wade whether he sees anything inherently distasteful about the core idea.
“I love to travel, but a lot of people around the world don’t have the opportunity to do so,” he responded. “The app really does help to bridge economic lines and really give people the chance to travel to places they’ve never been.”
…if you’re hot.

Get ready to be jealous if you have been dreaming of travelling the world. Meet Natalie Wood, a resident of Canterbury, Kent, who has managed to visit countries Turkey, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Australia, among others–all for free.
Sounds unbelievable, right? Natalie seemed to hit the bull's eye when she joined Miss Travel. Founded by a Chinese businessman in 2012, it is a dating site that brings together people comfortable with the idea of travelling on a date.

Despite being called a 'gold-digger' by many who read her story, Natalie doesn't let such things get to her, as in her words, she's just a “luxury traveller.”
Since Natalie has joined the website, she has not only managed to visit exotic places, the 30-year-old's also got access to designer goods, exquisite villas, luxurious cars, yachts and the best of everything money can buy.

While the website is often criticised for being a marketplace for prostitutes and is often seen by people as a way to push sex trafficking, Natalie's experiences tell a completely different story. She seems to have a penchant for picking the right men, it seems.
In her interview with Mirror, Natalie was quoted as saying, “I am honest about what I am looking for, I am single and enjoy meeting new people and being spoilt.
Most of the men, who are usually a little older than I am, are successful businessmen who are tired of travelling alone and have enough funds to be able to share their trip with me.
But I always put my safety first, I insist on Skyping and always ask to see their ID before we arrange to meet, but every guy I have met has been a true gentleman.”
About the money spent by her dates on her, Natalie added, “It's hard to put a figure on it, but men have spent tens of thousands on my flights and accommodation, I think it would total in excess of GBP 60,000, but I don't keep track of it.”

Since she's joined the website, Natalie has been on around 80 dates with men from all over the world. Talking about one of her experiences, she said,”I flew to Perth in Australia to me meet a different guy who owned private planes; he had a huge collection and I was able to ride in one.”
Those wondering if sex is a pre-requisite for such trips, Natalie will have you believe it's not: “There's no pressure to have a sexual relationship with the men I date but I don't rule sex out, I always make sure I am attracted to them first and the connection has to come naturally,” she said.
Though she plans to open a spa in the future, inspired by her travels, till the time she finds her Mr Right–“an international businessman”–she'll continue to use the website for further adventures.
